How old do I have to be to volunteer?
Volunteers must be 18 years old for most of the volunteer positions. Students between the
ages of 14-18 will be considered for certain positions but must have the volunteer
waiver form signed by their parent/guardian.
What are the basic requirements to be a volunteer?
Some volunteer positions may be physically demanding to some degree,
whether it be standing, sitting, walking, lifting or using tools for extended periods
of time. All roles require some level of attention to detail and volunteers may
require orientation training. Some positions may also require specific knowledge
Will the Festival go on regardless of weather?
The Festival cannot be rescheduled so will only be cancelled or postponed if
race conditions are unsafe. Volunteers should be prepared for all types of weather.
I’d like to volunteer with my friends, can we be scheduled
to work together?
We will make every effort to schedule friends together. Please ensure when registering
you indicate you would like to volunteer as a group.
How long is each volunteer shift?
Volunteers are asked to commit to a half day but can request to volunteer for the entire
day if they choose.
Can I choose the area I would like to volunteer in?
We will do our best to accommodate all requests, however for the success and safety
of the Festival it is important that all volunteer positions are filled so volunteers may
be asked to help out in other areas.
What do I need to bring with me for the day?
Lunch, snacks and water will be provided throughout the day. Volunteer t-shirts will
be supplied but volunteers should consider bringing a change of clothes, also remember
to bring appropriate clothing shouldthe weather change throughout the day.
Volunteers in the docks and marshalling area may be required to wear water shoes.
Can I park my car at the Festival site?
Due to limited space, parking on the Festival grounds is restricted to pass holders only.
Volunteers are encouraged to use the free shuttle service that runs continuously from
the Kennebecasis Valley Superstore to theFestival site.
